Dr. Joe Gordon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Prince Edward Island and is cross appointed in the Faculties of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. Using both cell culture and animal models, his research focuses on the regulation of metabolism during diabetic cardiomyopathy, muscle insulin resistance, and investigates how modern obesity medication impacts muscle function. Dr. Gordon’s research program is funded by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Diabetes Canada, and the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
