In her current Academic role Dr Vine is Professor of Human Nutrition and is Chair and Academic Lead of the Nutrition and Dietetics programs at the University of Alberta.
Her UG, GRAD and POST DOC training was in physiology, nutrition and dietetics, and pharmacology, specializing in lipid metabolism and cardiovascular disease in metabolic-endocrine conditions.
In her Research role Dr Vine leads the PCOS Together research and community outreach program which aims to understand and improve the health and healthcare of those living with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Dr Vine has a basic to clinical translational research program with an animal model of PCOS and conducts epidemiological, clinical trials and health care research in PCOS and related co-morbidities. Dr Vine is Co-Director of Metabolic and Cardiovascular Disease Laboratory and a Principle Investigator in the Alberta Diabetes Institute, Women and Children’s Health Research Institute, Mazankowski Heart Research Institute and the Molecular and Cell Biology Scholar Group. Dr Vine was recognized as a leader in Women’s Health for International Women’s day (2023/2024) by the Alberta Women’s Health Foundation and is a member of the CIHR Pan-Canadian Women’s Health Coalition.
Dr Vine serves on the Canadian Society Endocrinology and Metabolism (CSEM) Council as Secretary Treasurer and Conference Planning Committee, is a CME academic and mentor for the Androgen Excess and PCOS Society, and serves as review-editor for JCEM, Fertil Steril, AM J PHYS: Endo. and Metab. and other journals.
