Julie Makarski is the DAC 2.0 Knowledge Mobilization-Implementation Science (KM-IS) Program co-lead. She has a general health, research, and management background with 30+ years of experience in the healthcare area in various roles, including as a non-academic research professional and manager for 23 years. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons BSc) in Health Studies (Gerontology and Psychology minors) (University of Waterloo), a Master of Science (MSc) in Health Research Methodology (McMaster University), and certificates in business, project management and KM science and practice. Julie is passionate about building literacy and capacity in knowledge mobilization among researchers, persons with lived experience, healthcare providers, and others, and to empowering them to optimally share and implement research results "in the real world", to make a positive difference in the lives and health of patients, the public, and the healthcare system.
