Dr. Prentice completed her BSc in Developmental Biology and PhD in Physiology at the University of Toronto. She then went on to do a postdoctoral fellowship in the lab of Dr. Gokhan Hotamisligil at the Harvard School of Public Health. As of September 2023, Dr. Prentice has returned to the Department of Physiology at the University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor. Her work focuses on identifying, characterizing, and targeting circulating factors affecting beta cell function in the prediabetic period. Dr. Prentice's lab is supported by grants from Breakthrough T1D and CIHR.
