Dr. Melissa-Rosina Pasqua obtained her Doctorate in Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She then went onto McGill University for her residency training in Core Internal Medicine and Endocrinology & Metabolism. During her last year of Endocrinology, she began graduate studies in Experimental Medicine. Her PhD work focusses on the use of adjunctive pharmacotherapies to optimize hybrid closed-loop therapy in adults with type 1 diabetes. She has received recognition through the FRQS Master's award for those with a professional medical degree, and the CSEM Dr Fernard Labrie Award. She will be completing her thesis this year, and will be going onto commence her role as clinician-scientist at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre, focussing on metabolic syndrome and adjunctive therapies in type 1 diabetes. She was recently awarded a Department of Medicine Early Career Research Award to commence her research.
