Lisa graduated from Memorial University in St. John’s with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 1999 and went on to Acadia University in Wolfville to complete her Dietetics & Nutrition studies in 2000, spending the next year in Nova Scotia for her dietetic internship in Halifax.
Over the course of her 23-year career as a Registered Dietitian, Lisa has worked in various areas of healthcare from acute care to outpatient clinic to long-term care. She obtained her CDE in 2009 followed by completion of the Diabetes Graduate Program through Confederation College in 2010 and has been actively maintaining and upgrading her skillset to help people living with diabetes ever since.
Lisa currently holds the Clinical Lead for Dietitians position at the Diabetes Education Centre with Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services, Eastern Urban Zone. As clinical lead, she has been able to satisfy her desire to support and educate people with diabetes while attempting to minimize barriers to care and promote positive health outcomes through program planning, policy development and mentorship for new dietitians and dietetic interns.
