Dr. Shirl Gee completed her medical degree at the University of Alberta. Her internal medicine residency was at Dalhousie University and her endocrinology residency training was at McGill University. She is an assistant professor of medicine and has been a member of the Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism at Dalhousie University since 2001. Her areas of interest include gender-affirming health care and diabetes & pregnancy.
