Jennifer Thompson completed her PhD at the University of Western Ontario, in London Ontario, and then undertook a postdoctoral fellowship in the Vascular Biology Center at the Medical College of Georgia. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary, in Calgary, Alberta. The overarching goal of Jennifer's research program is to gain a mechanistic understanding of how early life environmental exposures shape cardiometabolic health throughout the lifespan. Her research program at the University of Calgary has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC), Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI), the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and Diabetes Canada. She recently held a National New Investigator Award from the HSFC and was the recipient of a Young Investigator Award from the Perinatal Research Society.
