Dr Kristin Clemens MD MSc FRCPC Cert Endocrinology is a Clinician-Scientist and Associate Professor in the Division of Endocrinology and Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University. She is also Site Director and Senior Adjunct Scientist at ICES Western, and Associate Scientist at Lawson Research Institute. In the Spring of 2024 Dr. Clemens was appointed the Diabetes Canada Chair in Diabetes Management.
Dr. Clemens' clinical and research focus is on the care and outcomes of patients complex endocrine disease, multimorbidity, and health disparities. She leads large research programs that use multiple methods including observational design, qualitative methdology and, quality improvement. Programs have culminated in pragmatic randomized controlled trials to examine the effectiveness of drugs and treatment pathways in patients who have been understudied in clinical research. Dr. Clemens' research has been funded by CIHR, the ACT Consortium, Diabetes Canada and the Kidney Foundation of Canada and she has been the recipient of awards including the Dean's Award of Research Excellence from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.
