Sara Duchene-Milne is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator with over 20 years of experience in acute clinical care at various teaching institutions such as Health Sciences North. In recent years, she has drawn upon her Indigenous ancestry and now specializes in diabetes clinical care for Indigenous Communities working at Noojmowin-Teg Health Center on Manitoulin Island, Ontario.
Sara is a clinical preceptor and Advisory Committee member for the NOSM University Dietetic Practicum Program, an Integrated Clinical Council member for the Indigenous Primary Health Care Council, a working group member for the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases, is on the Board of Directors for the National Indigenous Diabetes Association, an Editorial board member for the Diabetes Communicator Publication and Co-Chair for the Indigenous Science & Content stream for the Diabetes Canada professional conference.
