Dr Lega MD, MSc, FRCPC is a Clinician Scientist at Women's College Research Institute, a Staff Endocrinolgoist at Women's College Hospital, an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and an Adjunct Scientist at ICES. Dr Lega's main area of research uses ICES databases to better understand patterns and risk of diabetes overtreamtent in older adults. Along with a multi-discplinary team of pharmacists and scientists, she co-leads an interventional study to improve diabetes deintensifcation practices in nursing homes in Ontario. Dr. Lega is also the clinical lead of the Reproductive Endocrinology Program at Women's College Hospital and leads multiple educational initiatives on Menopause care targeting primary care providers. Dr Lega has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers, including the Hypoglycemia Chapter for the Diabetes Canada Clinical Practice Guidelines. She is also a national consulting editor for the Canadian Journal of Diabetes. Dr. Lega received the CSEM New Invetigator Award in 2023.
